Lizzy Reading

Thought you all would like to hear a bedtime story from Lizzy. She usually sits somewhere during the day and reads (or sings) for 20 or so minutes. It is very awesome.

Rock Polisher and other news

Cleaning the tumbler
Looking at the rocks (the best part)

After two weeks of tumbling. One week of course grit and another week of fine grit. They are very smooth.

After three days in the tumbler with the pre-polish.

I know you are all dying to know how the rocks are doing. This Sunday Henry finished the fine grit and started on the pre-polish. We should have them all polished by next Thursday. They are really cool looking.
In other news:
* Chris is doing much better and has gone to the store by myself. He will start work again in 1 1/2 weeks.
* Yesterday, scouts pick up trash at the spit. It was awesome. It was raining all around us but there was a circle of sunshine were we were picking up trash. God answered my prayer that day.
*When I got home from scouts our house was directly under the rainbow. It was a full arch rainbow. It was really pretty. Wish I had my camera.
* Henry told Chris "You just don't get it" (talking about fashion). It was pretty funny.
* I think we have made it two weeks without throwing up. It has only been a week since someone was sick. We are slowing improving.
*Jill is enjoying Easter Candy
*We are half way through the Lightening Thief (great book)

Chris's surgery and Rock Tumbling

Chris on Tuesday afternoon (looks pretty good after surgery)
Chris went into surgery on Monday. The surgery went great and was home within 5 hours after he arrived at the hospital.
He has mostly hung out on the couch and watched the TV or played the Wii. I came home today and he was watching Phineas and Ferb.
He was up and walking around today. I took him to the video store and that was about what he could handle today.
Feel the love

Henry got a rock tumbler for his birthday. It takes 4 weeks of (24-7) tumbling to get the rocks shinny and smooth.
This is what the rocks look like after a week of tumbling (24-7) in the rock tumbler with course grit. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of what they looked like before they got tumbled. I am sure you can imagine the rocks a little more sharp and pointy and not as colorful.
